Life Coaching

Life Coaching in Newport Beach, CA

Dr. Seghers believes human experience is a creative process — shaped by the thoughts we hold, the beliefs we carry, the behaviors we practice, and the meaning we assign to it all.

Coaching, in his approach, isn’t about fixing what’s broken; it’s about helping you recognize your innate potential and align your daily actions with what you actually value.

That work shows up differently depending on where you are. For some clients, it starts with direction — a sense of being unmoored or unfulfilled, and a need to clarify purpose before anything else can move. For others, the direction is already clear and the work is momentum: turning aspiration into consistent, goal-directed action. Still others come in stuck — caught in procrastination or inconsistency — needing to rebuild motivation and self-discipline from the inside out. And often, the work is relational: learning to navigate conflict, deepen intimacy, and communicate in ways that turn friction into connection rather than distance.

Underneath all of it sits the same core aim: sustainable personal growth. Not a one-time boost of confidence or a burst of motivation, but a durable shift in how you relate to yourself and your goals — one that holds up once the initial energy fades.

Coaching sessions are available in person at Dr. Seghers’ Newport Beach office and via telehealth for clients throughout Orange County and California.

Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy, the Japanese concept of Ikigai, and the Wheel of Life for structured self-reflection — helping you clarify purpose before anything else can move.

Goal Achievement

SMART goal-setting and the GROW model (Goal, Reality, Options, Will) — turning aspiration into consistent, goal-directed action.

Habit-formation principles from Atomic Habits and Tiny Habits, paired with growth-mindset work drawn from Carol Dweck’s research — rebuilding motivation and self-discipline from the inside out.

04

Self-compassion practices inspired by Kristin Neff, cognitive restructuring, and progressive mastery experiences — building a steadier, more grounded sense of self.

05

Relationships

Principles from the Gottman Method and training in empathetic, non-defensive communication — learning to navigate conflict and turn friction into connection rather than distance.

Rather than applying a fixed program, Dr. Seghers works collaboratively with each client to assess where they stand, define what “better” looks like for them, and build toward it using whichever tools fit the person in front of him.
