I have practiced counseling and psychotherapy since 2004, and life coaching since 2011. Clinically, I have been affiliated with the Rehabilitation Institute of Southern California, Straight Talk Counseling Inc., Kent State University Psychological Clinic, Summa Health System (St. Thomas Hospital), and the Cleveland VA Medical Center.

I have an extensive background in psychological research, where I specialized in the study of stress and serious mental illness. My doctoral research focused on the relationship between difficult, stressful, and adverse life events, on the one hand, and significant mental health outcomes such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder, on the other. I have published and reviewed scientific papers for peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented at international conferences.

I am an avid photographer, backpacker/mountaineer, and meditation practitioner. I am a Southern California native, and have been happily married for 11 years. Prior to beginning my graduate training in psychology, I worked for 5 years with a marketing agency in Irvine, California.
